Our 8th Annual Intellectual Property Training Institute (IPTI) will be held from Sunday, September 25 – Friday, October 7, 2016.
The IPTI will be interactive with lectures providing specific recommendations for improving patent application preparation and prosecution skills and strategies. The lectures will be followed by hands-on workshops using patents and facts from patent infringement litigations which our firm has handled.
Intellectual Property Training Institute Topics
The overall topics will include:
- U.S. Patent Specification and Claim Drafting
- Prior Art & Obviousness
- Patent Examination Strategies
- Post-Examination Strategies
- Claim Construction, Validity, Infringement, and Litigation
The first week of the Institute will be devoted to U.S. patent prosecution, with a focus on claim drafting, prior art, and obviousness. The second week will focus on prosecution strategies and expediting allowance, as well as patent enforcement, including post-examination practice, claim construction, validity, infringement and litigation. Updates regarding the effect of the America Invents Act (AIA) are also discussed in detail and applied throughout all of the presentations.
Detailed training materials will be available for all participants. The two-week Institute will also include several educational outings, including USPTO and court visits, as well as several optional social activities.
