Steve Jinks is Of Counsel with the firm. He primarily assists clients with preparation and prosecution of patent applications, including numerous successful ex parte appeals before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. His areas of technical expertise include medical devices, automotive components, optical devices, personal respirators, aircraft systems, combustion engines and safety helmets.

Steve counsels clients to develop robust patent portfolios. These counseling activities include developing overall portfolio strategies and drafting claims to cover specific products, both client's and competitor's. Steve also assists clients with product development and clearance, including the preparation of invalidity and non-infringement opinions.

Before becoming an attorney, Steve was an engineer working primarily on military aircraft systems and is a named inventor on U.S. and international patents. Prior to rejoining the firm, Steve was a partner at another intellectual property law firm in Virginia.
