Jesse Collier is a Member of the firm and serves on the firm's Executive Committee.  He began working with the firm as a student extern in the fall of 2002 and joined the firm as an associate in 2003.  Jesse focuses his practice primarily in the areas of mechanical and software utility patent preparation and prosecution, design patent preparation and prosecution, opinion drafting, and post-grant proceedings, including inter partes and post grant reviews (IPR and PGR).  Jesse has extensive experience in, and has provided lectures to many clients on, §101 subject matter eligibility under Alice, IPR and PGR procedure and strategy, prosecution and enforcement strategies for software, machine learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT), and prosecution and enforcement strategies for design patents.  He has served as lead counsel in both ex parte and inter partes appeals before the USPTO Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) and appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Jesse frequently travels to Japan and Europe to meet with clients, conduct negotiations, provide lectures and seminars on U.S. IP law and practice, and to assist clients with prosecution and enforcement strategy.
