Pete Ewald is a Member of the firm and serves on the firm's Executive Committee. He has been with the firm since 2006 and focuses his practice primarily in the areas of litigation, licensing and opinion drafting. Pete has broad experience litigating matters across a number of different technology areas, including matters involving various mechanical and electrical automotive technologies, semiconductors, medical devices, telecommunications and pharmaceuticals. He has served as lead counsel in litigations before various U.S. district courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and in inter partes and post grant reviews and various other post grant proceedings before the USPTO Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).
Pete frequently travels to Japan, China and Europe to meet with clients, conduct negotiations, provide lectures and seminars on U.S. IP law and practice, and to assist clients with pretrial and trial preparations, including document production and other discovery related tasks.
Before he attended law school, Pete served as an officer in the U.S. Navy for eight years and was stationed in Hawaii and Singapore.
