Publications

Joel Armstrong氏は、弊所のパートナーです。1994年に入所しました。幅広い技術、特に化学技術および化学工学技術において、クライアントへのカウンセリングと特許出願準備および審査手続きの実務に主に携わっています。USPTO特許審判部(PTAB)における多数の審判案件の書類準備と口頭弁論を行い、成功を収めてきました。また、PTABにおいて、インターフェアレンスの手続きを含み、多数の当事者系(inter partes)案件にも携わっています。多数の米国/外国クライアントからの秘密命令(Secrecy Order)下にある特許出願に関する責任者でもあります。

様々な米国/外国特許出願の審査手続きにおいて弁護士の教育指導にかなりの時間を費やしています。また、弊所における国際特許出願提出プログラムの管理指導も行っています。何回にもわたり、特許出願準備と審査手続き、特許協力条約(PCT)に基づく手続き、特許法における時事問題についてのレクチャーも行ってきました。

弊所入所以前には、コンピュータ/データベースプログラミング、コンピュータネットワークのインストールと管理、財務会計における高度な知識を取得しました。また、特許審査手続きから商標侵害と商標権利行使に至るまでのトピックのリーガルリサーチを行う法律事務所において、ロークラークとして勤めていました。コンピュータとコンピュータネットワーキングの経歴を持ち合わせているため、頻繁に弊所のITインフラストラクチャーのプランおよび管理のサポートも行っています。
