On September 30, 2024, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office announced that the After Final Consideration Pilot Program 2.0 (AFCP 2.0) will be discontinued as of December 14, 2024. After December 14, 2024, any amendments made in response to a Final Rejection that cannot be entered and considered under the provisions of 37 C.F.R. 1.116 will require the filing of a Request for Continued Examination (RCE) for entry and consideration.
